Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Phase transition of multi-component (TiZrVNb)C ceramics—Part II: From single phase to multiple phases via adjusting V content

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
To address the relatively mediocre mechanical properties of single-phase multi-component carbide ceramics, a phase transition from a single phase to multiple phases was proposed to achieve superior mechanical properties.

Microstructure change of duplex stainless steels after thermal aging and electron beam irradiation

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2018
Duplex stainless steel has been used as a structural material for light water reactors. It is well known that the thermal aging during operation causes spinodal decomposition to Cr-rich (α') phase and Fe-rich (α) phase in the ferrite phase, resulting in ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Unsteady Analysis of Molten Salt Pump Based on Dynamic Mode Decomposition [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
As the main heat storage medium in photothermal power station, binary molten salt undergoes thermal decomposition above 450°C, generating gas that accumulates within molten salt pump flow passages and affects pump performance.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Spinodal Decomposition to a Lamellar Phase: Effects of Hydrodynamic Flow [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1997
Results are presented for the kinetics of domain growth of a two-dimensional fluid quenched from a disordered to a lamellar phase. At early times when a Lifshitz-Slyozov mechanism is operative the growth process proceeds logarithmically in time to a frozen state with locked-in defects.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

A Sparse Decomposition-Based Algorithm for Estimating the Parameters of Polynomial Phase Signals

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, we propose an algorithm in which fast sparse decomposition is used to estimate the polynomial phase signal (PPS) parameters. In the proposed algorithm, a fast sparse decomposition is applied to the second-order PPSs, which outperforms ...
