Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

A Thermodynamic Model for Predicting 3D Phase Equilibrium Surface of Natural Gas Hydrates Considering Salt Concentration

open access: yesZuanjingye yu wanjingye
Accurate prediction of the thermodynamic stability of gas hydrates in salt-bearing systems is of great significance for predicting the accumulation range and determining the decomposition domain of hydrate.

Phase Transition and Equilibrium

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Engineering of Japan, 1989
This review aims to provide both an outline of the fundamental concepts and a review of the most recent developments in phase transition and equilibrium. Small molecule, polymer and gel systems all fall within its scope, with particular reference being made to phase-equilibrium patterns, prediction of equilibrium properties and the kinetics of phase ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Binary solid-liquid-gas equilibrium of the tripalmitin/CO2 and ubiquinone/CO2 systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A conventional method was used to measure the melting points of the natural lipid tripalmitin and of the coenzyme ubiquinone (coQ 10) under high pressure carbon dioxide.
