“Phase diagram” of a mean field game [PDF]
Mean field games were introduced by J-M.Lasry and P-L. Lions in the mathematical community, and independently by M. Huang and co-workers in the engineering community, to deal with optimization problems when the number of agents becomes very large. In this article we study in detail a particular example called the 'seminar problem' introduced by O ...

Phase-field approach for faceted solidification [PDF]
We extend the phase-field approach to model the solidification of faceted materials. Our approach consists of using an approximate gamma-plot with rounded cusps that can approach arbitrarily closely the true gamma-plot with sharp cusps that correspond to faceted orientations.

This open access textbook fills a gap, in that it introduces readers to the theory and applications of the Phase-Field technique. Phase Field, over the years, has emerged as a standard tool for materials research, just as the Finite-Element technique has in structure mechanics.

Study on fracture of hyperelastic Kirchhoff-Love plates and shells by phase field method
Thin walled structures such as plates and shells are widely used in many engineering fields. To Predict its fracture behavior is of great significance for integrity design and strength evaluation of engineering structures.

Effect of fluid fl ow on solidifi ed equiaxed dendrite morphology evolution based on phase fi eld - lattice Boltzmann method [PDF]
Fluid fl ow can signifi cantly change the evolution of microstructural morphology. However, relatively little is known how the fluid flow, concentration and microstructure affect each other quantitatively, which is essential to optimize processing ...
