Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Moving fibre/phase mask-scanning beam technique for writing arbitrary profile fibre gratings with a uniform phase mask

open access: yes, 1995
We demonstrate a new technique for writing in-fibre gratings with a uniform phase mask. By moving the fibre/phase mask while the beam is scanning, a range of important grating profiles, such as multi-wavelength gratings, 'pure' apodisation, and chirped ...

Resolution limits due to ellipticity in submicron photoalignment with Berry-phase photomasks

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
Photoalignment using Berry-phase masks enables single-step transfer of complex liquid crystal (LC) patterns but faces difficulty in reproducing submicrometer patterns.

Design and analysis of a phase mask for mutifocusing

open access: yes, 2011
The image quality will degrade if the misfocusing problem occurs in the imaging system. This paper is aimed to design and analyze a phase mask for mutifocusing problem. Depth of field is the range to get a clear image.

Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

Interference Exposure Fabrication of Blazed Grating by Phase-shifting Mask [PDF]

open access: yes
A simple interference exposure method using a phase-shifting mask was discussed on the basis of Fourier synthesis for fabricating blazed gratings. A phase-shifting mask was designed with 244 nm exposure-light wavelength to launch multiple diffraction ...

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.
