Identification of functional and diverse circulating cancer‐associated fibroblasts in metastatic castration‐naïve prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Interplay of spin–orbit coupling and Coulomb interaction in ZnO-based electron system

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
The coexistence of spin–orbit and electron–electron interactions is expected to give rise to novel electronic phases and spin textures, but it is challenging to achieve in experiments.

Ferromagnetic phase diagram of neutron matter [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
The magnetic properties of matter under extreme conditions are of particular importance to understanding the neutron star interior. One contributing factor to the magnetic field of a neutron star could be the ferromagnetic phase of nuclear matter. In this letter we present a self-consistent, relativistic description of ferromagnetism in dense matter ...

Chiral model approach to quark matter nucleation in neutron stars

open access: yes, 2012
The nucleation process of quark matter in both cold and hot dense hadronic matter is investigated using a chiral approach to describe the quark phase. We use the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio and the Chromo Dielectric models to describe the deconfined phase and the

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Quantized surface transport in topological Dirac semimetal films

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The recent observation of quantum Hall states in bulk Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 is possibly evolved from topological states. Here, Nishihaya et al. report surface quantum oscillation and its evolution into quantum Hall states in Cd3As2 thin films, where ...

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Quantum Hall states observed in thin films of Dirac semimetal Cd3As2

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Despite many achievements in the topological semimetal Cd3As2, the high-quality Cd3As2 films are still rare. Here, Uchida et al. grow high-crystallinity and high-mobility Cd3As2 thin films and observe quantum Hall states dependent on the confinement ...

A new possible quark-hadron mixed phase in protoneutron stars

open access: yes, 2009
The phase transition from hadronic matter to quark matter at high density might be a strong first order phase transition in presence of a large surface tension between the two phases.
