Strain-tuning for superconductivity in La3Ni2O7 thin films
The recent discovery of high-transition temperature (T c) superconductivity in pressurized La3Ni2O7 bulk crystals has attracted keen attention for its characteristic energy diagram of e g orbitals containing nearly half-filled $${d}_{{3}{z}^{2}-{r}^{2}}$

The supersolid phase of matter
The supersolid is a phase of matter intermediate between a crystal and a superfluid. It was predicted more than fifty years ago, long sought in solid helium and only recently discovered in a quantum gas of magnetic atoms. This article explains how we came to discover the supersolid, how some surprising properties have already been characterized and ...

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Ultrafast nematic-orbital excitation in FeSe
Several experiments have shown evidence for unusual nematic electronic behaviour in unconventional superconductors. Here the authors use pump-probe spectroscopy to observe out-of-equilibrium behaviour of coupled nematic-orbital excitations in iron ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Strongly enhanced shift current at exciton resonances in a noncentrosymmetric wide-gap semiconductor
Excitons are fundamental quasiparticles that are ubiquitous in photoexcited semiconductors and insulators. Despite causing a sharp and strong photoabsorption near the interband absorption edge, charge-neutral excitons do not yield photocurrent in ...

An effective model of QCD thermodynamics
A combined effective model reproducing the equation of state of hadronic matter as obtained in recent lattice QCD simulations is presented. The model reproduces basic physical characteristics encountered in dense hadronic matter in the quark-gluon plasma

This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Effects of density-dependent quark mass on phase diagram of three-flavor quark matter
Considering the density dependence of quark mass, we investigate the phase transition between the (unpaired) strange quark matter and the color-flavor-locked matter, which are supposed to be two candidates for the ground state of strongly interacting ...
