Phase transitions in discrete structures
2015Over the past 20 years physicists have developed an ingenious but non-rigorous approach to random discrete structures, the so-called cavity method. This technique has led to many intriguing predictions as to, e.g., the precise location and nature of phase transitions and the performance of algorithms.

The effect of phase structures on spatial phase discrimination
Vision Research, 1984This study was concerned with the discrimination of multifrequency gratings which differed only in the relative phase of one sinewave component (the test frequency) relative to the other components (the background frequencies). The dependent variable was the contrast of the test frequency required to discriminate between the two gratings.

Phase structures of microemulsions
Current Opinion in Colloid & Interface Science, 2002Microemulsions were subject to numerous studies during the last decades, mainly because of their potential with respect to applications, but they are also interesting model systems for statistical mechanics. This is due to their rather complicated phase behaviour and the fascinating microstructures encountered in microemulsion forming systems.

Abstract Structural optimizations were performed for all previously predicted phases of SrHfO3, using density functional theory. The phonon dispersion relations of cubic P m 3 ¯ m phase of SrHfO3 have been calculated within density functional perturbation theory. Instabilities have been observed along the M – Γ – R – M
