Design methods with predictive properties modelling are paramount tools to explore the vast compositional field of multicomponent alloys. The applicability of an alloy as a hydrogen storage media is governed by its thermodynamic properties, which can be ...

Structures for phase classification [PDF]
Most programs are repetitive, where similar behavior can be seen at different execution times. Proposed algorithms automatically group these similar intervals of execution into phases, where all he intervals in a phase have homogeneous behavior and similar resource requirements.

Characterization and corrosion properties of electrodeposited Ni-W alloys [PDF]
Ni-W alloys electrodeposited from citrate solution consist of three different phases, which are all present in high W-content alloys: a solid solution of W in a Ni matrix; an intermetallic compound Ni4W, as well as another solid solution of Win ...

Layered oxides have been intensively studied due to their high degree of freedom in designing various electromagnetic properties and functionalities. While Bi-based layered supercell (LSC) compounds [BinOn+δ]-[MO2] (M = Mn, Mn/Al, Mn/Fe, or Mn/Ni; n = 2,

Phase structure and compactness [PDF]
In order to study the influence of compactness on low-energy properties, we compare the phase structures of the compact and non-compact two-dimensional multi-frequency sine-Gordon models. It is shown that the high-energy scaling of the compact and non-compact models coincides, but their low-energy behaviors differ.

Tensionless structure of a glassy phase [PDF]
We study a class of homogeneous finite-dimensional Ising models which were recently shown to exhibit glassy properties. Monte Carlo simulations of a particular three-dimensional model in this class show that the glassy phase obtained under slow cooling is dominated by large scale excitations whose energy $E_l$ scales with their size $l$ as $E_l\sim l^Θ$

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is a non-destructive technique that can reveal the phase structure and dynamics of polymers at the molecular level. It is sensitive to polymer chain mobility and requires minimal special sample preparation.

QCD phase structure from functional methods [PDF]
We discuss the QCD phase structure at finite temperature and chemical potential for 2-flavor and $2+1$-flavor QCD. The results are achieved by computing QCD correlation functions within a generalized functional approach that combines Dyson-Schwinger ...
