Phase frustration induced remote synchronization
Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2022Remote synchronization (RS) may take an important role in brain functioning and its study has attracted much attention in recent years. So far, most studies of RS are focused on the Stuart–Landau oscillators with mean-field coupling. However, realistic cases may have more complicated couplings and behaviors, such as the brain networks.

Irrational phase synchronization
Physical Review E, 2004We study the occurrence of physically observable phase locked states between chaotic oscillators and rotors in which the frequencies of the coupled systems are irrationally related. For two chaotic oscillators, the phenomenon occurs as a result of a coupling term which breaks the 2 pi invariance in the phase equations. In the case of rotors, a coupling

Partial Phase Synchronization for Multivariate Synchronizing Systems
Physical Review Letters, 2006Graphical models applying partial coherence to multivariate time series are a powerful tool to distinguish direct and indirect interdependencies in multivariate linear systems. We carry over the concept of graphical models and partialization analysis to phase signals of nonlinear synchronizing systems.

Generalized synchronization versus phase synchronization
Physical Review E, 2000The relation between generalized synchronization and phase synchronization is investigated. It was claimed that generalized synchronization always leads to phase synchronization, and phase synchronization is a weaker form than generalized synchronization.

Phase Synchronization of Chaotic Oscillators
Physical Review Letters, 1996We present the new effect of phase synchronization of weakly coupled self-sustained chaotic oscillators. To characterize this phenomenon, we use the analytic signal approach based on the Hilbert transform and partial Poincar\'e maps. For coupled R\"ossler attractors, in the synchronous regime the phases are locked, while the amplitudes vary chaotically

Experimental observation of phase synchronization
Physical Review E, 1996An experimental observation of phase synchronization is presented for two unidirectionally coupled chaotic R\"ossler systems. We show that in this case phase synchronization is connected with generalized synchronization which occurs when the coupling strength exceeds a critical value. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.

Phase Synchronization of Chaotic Rotators
Physical Review Letters, 2002We demonstrate the existence of phase synchronization of two chaotic rotators. Contrary to phase synchronization of chaotic oscillators, here the Lyapunov exponents corresponding to both phases remain positive even in the synchronous regime. Such frequency locked dynamics with different ratios of frequencies are studied for driven continuous-time ...

Monitored Phase Synchronization
1999In Chapter 17 we addressed the problem of phase synchronization — also known as “barrier synchronization” — for the case of two components. The main purpose of that chapter was to show program derivation at work in a simple setting and to discuss various methodological issues.

Measuring Phase Synchronization of Superimposed Signals
Physical Review Letters, 2005Phase synchronization is an important phenomenon that occurs in a wide variety of complex oscillatory processes. Measuring phase synchronization can therefore help to gain fundamental insight into nature. In this Letter we point out that synchronization analysis techniques can detect spurious synchronization, if they are fed with a superposition of ...
