Estimating synchronization signal phase

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
To read a watermark from printed images requires that the watermarking system read correctly after affine distortions. One way to recover from affine distortions is to add a synchronization signal in the Fourier frequency domain and use this synchronization signal to estimate the applied affine distortion.

Clustering versus non-clustering phase synchronizations

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2014
Clustering phase synchronization (CPS) is a common scenario to the global phase synchronization of coupled dynamical systems. In this work, a novel scenario, the non-clustering phase synchronization (NPS), is reported. It is found that coupled systems do not transit to the global synchronization until a certain sufficiently large coupling is attained ...

Distributed Liberal Phase Synchronization

1999
There is a rather wide-spread belief that the design of distributed algorithms requires methods that are quite different from those used for the design of shared-variable algorithms. This is an unfortunate misunderstanding. In previous chapters we already showed the development of a number of small distributed algorithms, and in this chapter we will ...

Three-Phase Synchronous Machines

1979
Among the various types of electromagnetic energy-converters to be studied in this book, the synchronous machine is the one that embodies the idea of relative motion between electric conductors and a magnetic field in its purest form. This machine also has the distinction of being practically the only type of generator for major power systems, in ...

Synchronizing out of Phase

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1957
Synchronous-machine torques due to out-of-phase synchronizing may be quite large; larger in fact than those encountered during a 3-phase short circuit. Previous works have presented various forms of equations to calculate these torques.1-3,6 With the advent of the widespread use of systems analyzers and computers, it becomes convenient to use more ...
