Vocatives: correlating the syntax and discourse at the interface
Vocative expressions have been neglected in linguistic inquiry until very recently. This article provides a novel approach to the study of vocatives based on correlating the syntax and discourse at the interface.

Zilch vortical effect, Berry phase, and kinetic theory
Rotating photon gas exhibits a chirality separation along the angular velocity which is manifested through a generation of helicity and zilch currents. In this paper we study this system using the corresponding Wigner function and construct elements of ...

Phase Spaces and Deformation Theory [PDF]
In an earlier paper the author has sketched a physical toy model where the space-time of classical physics became a section of a universal fiber space \(\tilde{E}\) defined on the moduli space \(\underline{H}=\text{Simp}(H)\) of the physical system under consideration.

Quantum criticality of quasi one-dimensional topological Anderson insulators [PDF]
We present an analytic theory of quantum criticality in the quasi one-dimensional topological Anderson insulators of class AIII and BDI. We describe the systems in terms of two parameters (g,χ) representing localization and topological properties ...

We study the interpretation of O7+-planes in F-theory, mainly in the context of the six-dimensional models. In particular, we study how to assign gauge algebras and matter content to seven-branes and their intersections, and the implication of anomaly ...

On the Directionality of Conversion: A New Perspective from Category Mismatch under VP-Ellipsis
In this paper, I address the directionality issue posed by conversion in English through an investigation of category mismatch under VP-ellipsis, a less-studied type of ellipsis mismatch.

On the phase space in Double Field Theory
We present a model of (double) kinetic theory which paves the way to describe matter in a Double Field Theory background. Generalized diffeomorphisms acting on double phase space tensors are introduced. The generalized covariant derivative is replaced by

Singularities and gauge theory phases [PDF]
Motivated by M-theory compactification on elliptic Calabi-Yau threefolds, we present a correspondence between networks of small resolutions for singular elliptic fibrations and Coulomb branches of five-dimensional N=1 gauge theories. While resolutions correspond to subchambers of the Coulomb branch, partial resolutions correspond to higher codimension ...

Gauge theories with a layered phase [PDF]
We study abelian gauge theories with anisotropic couplings in $4+D$ dimensions. A layered phase is present, in the absence as well as in the presence of fermions. A line of second order transitions separates the layered from the Coulomb phase, if $D\leq 3$.
