Boost Phase Trajectory Analysis Techniques
Journal of Jet Propulsion, 1957Analysis of the boost-phase performance of a rocketboosted missile generally requires the solution of a set of differential equations with variable coefficients. Analytical methods are difficult and time consuming if not impossi ble. This paper discusses four numerical approaches to the solution of the equations for a cruciform, uncontrolled missile ...

Achievable Halo Phasing with Short-Range Trajectories
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2020Short-range halo phasing orbits, which are a type of phasing orbit remaining around the halo orbit, are investigated in the Earth–moon system.

Linear response of phase-space trajectories to shearing
Physical Review Letters, 1989The influence of the Lyapunov instability on a trajectory in phase space is investigated numerically for a Lennard-Jones fluid under a constant shear rate \ensuremath{\gamma}. The time dependence of the distance d(t,\ensuremath{\gamma};\ensuremath{\Gamma}) between two individual trajectories, starting at the same phase point \ensuremath{\Gamma}, but ...

Kinetics of Phase Separation Along Stable Trajectories
1988The phase separation kinetics of dilute Al-(Zn,Mg) alloys were studied by small-angle and diffuse neutron scattering techniques and the mean cluster radius R as well as the volume fraction V of the solute-rich phase were determined. It could be shown that, within (R,V)-space, the decomposition corresponds to a trajectory, which is stable against small ...

Aberration detection through phase singularity movement trajectory
Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2023 (FiO, LS), 2023Based on numerical simulations, we develop a method for aberration detection through phase singularity movement trajectory. In this work, we present the detection of singular, third-order aberrations such as coma and astigmatism.

Particle Trajectories in Dilute Phase Pneumatic Conveying
Particulate Science and Technology, 2007A nonintrusive cross-correlation method to measure the particle velocities in dilute phase pneumatic conveying is described. The cross-correlation function generated gives information about the time it takes for a particle to travel between two optimally placed measurement planes.

A Phase Space Spline Smoother for Fitting Trajectories
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2004This paper presents a phase space spline smoother, which is especially useful for finding a best-fit trajectory from multiple examples of a given physical motion. Unlike conventional spline smoothers, the phase space spline smoother can simultaneously fit position and velocity information.

Experimental phase trajectories in boiling flow oscillations
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 1994Abstract Nonlinear dynamical attractors of a natural circulating boiling flow were experimentally measured. Phase-space projections in the flow subcooled length and flow exit quality planes were reconstructed using convolutions of the experimental signal.
