Axiogenesis from SU(2) R phase transition
The baryon asymmetry of the universe may be explained by rotations of the QCD axion in field space and baryon number violating processes. We consider the minimal extension of the Standard Model by a non-Abelian gauge interaction, SU(2) R , whose ...

Quantum phase transitions [PDF]
We give a general introduction to quantum phase transitions in strongly-correlated electron systems. These transitions which occur at zero temperature when a non-thermal parameter $g$ like pressure, chemical composition or magnetic field is tuned to a critical value are characterized by a dynamic exponent $z$ related to the energy and length scales $ $

These are notes for lectures delivered at the NATO ASI on Dynamics in Leiden, The Netherlands, in July 1998. The main concepts relating to quantum phase transitions are explained, using the paramagnet-to-ferromagnet transition of itinerant electrons as the primary example. Some aspects of metal-insulator transitions are also briefly discussed.

On the Douglas-Kazakov phase transition
We give a rigorous proof of the fact that a phase transition discovered by Douglas and Kazakov in 1993 in the context of two-dimensional gauge theories occurs. This phase transition can be formulated in terms of the Brownian bridge on

Reentrant phase transition of Born–Infeld-dilaton black holes
We explore a novel reentrant phase transition of four-dimensional Born–Infeld-dilaton black hole in which the first order phase transition modify into a zeroth order phase transition below the critical point.

Complexity, scaling, and a phase transition
We investigate the holographic complexity of CFTs compactified on a circle with a Wilson line, dual to magnetized solitons in AdS4 and AdS5. These theories have a confinement-deconfinement phase transition as a function of the Wilson line, and the ...

We show that melting the quark mass, the scalar $ $ mass and the quark condensate leads uniquely to the quark-level SU(2) linear $ $ model field theory. Upon thermalization, the chiral phase transition curve requires $T_c =2f^{CL}_ \approx 180 MeV$ when $ = 0$, while the critical chemical potential is $ _c =m_q\approx 325 MeV$.

Thermodynamics curvature in phase transitions for AdS black hole
We investigate the thermodynamic curvature in the Hawking-Page phase transition and the second-order phase transition of the AdS black hole. It is shown that the thermodynamic curvature has the same behavior in these two different phase transitions ...

AbstractThe sequence of phase transitions during the hot history of the universe is followed within a phenomenological framework. Particular emphasis is put on the QCD confinement transition, which is at reach under earth laboratory conditions. A tepid inflationary scenario on the GUT scale with bubble growth at moderate supercooling is discussed.
