Controllable, driven phase transitions in the Fractional quantum Hall states in bilayer graphene
Here we report from our theoretical studies that in biased bilayer graphene, one can induce phase transitions from an incompressible fractional quantum Hall state to a compressible state by tuning the bandgap at a given electron density.

AbstractThe sequence of phase transitions during the hot history of the universe is followed within a phenomenological framework. Particular emphasis is put on the QCD confinement transition, which is at reach under earth laboratory conditions. A tepid inflationary scenario on the GUT scale with bubble growth at moderate supercooling is discussed.

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Phase Transition and Fractals [PDF]
Summary: We give a geometrical interpretation of critical phenomena, particularly of the scaling relations on critical exponents, by the use of statistical fractal dimensionality. We also discuss the relation between this geometrical interpretation and the finite size scaling theory.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
