Chemically Passivated Polymeric Charge Recombination Layer for Efficient Tandem Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A chemically passivated polymeric charge recombination layer is developed for high‐performance tandem organic solar cells. Spontaneous in situ protonation of amine‐rich polyelectrolytes on PEDOT:PSS induces ionic self‐assembly, forming a robust dipole layer.

Pre-Congestion Notification Encoding Comparison [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
DiffServ mechanisms have been developed to support Quality of Service (QoS). However, the level of assurance that can be provided with DiffServ without substantial over-provisioning is limited.

Structure and Spectroscopic Characterisation of Phenanthroline‐Based Iodobismuthate(III) Complexes Utilised for Raw Acoustic Signal Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Memristors based on trimethylsulfonium (phenanthroline)tetraiodobismuthate have been utilised as a nonlinear node in a delayed feedback reservoir. This system allowed an efficient classification of acoustic signals, namely differentiation of vocalisation of the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula).

Poly-β-Hydroxybutyrate (PHB) Production By Amylolytic Micrococcus sp. PG1 Isolated From Soil Polluted Arrowroot Starch Waste

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2015
Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) production from amylolytic Micrococcus sp. PG1. Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate(PHB) is an organic polymer, which synthesized by many bacteria and serves as internal energy.

Seeds of change: The impact of Ethiopia's direct seed marketing approach on smallholders' seed purchases and productivity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract While multiple factors explain low adoption rates of improved varieties by small‐scale farmers in sub‐Saharan Africa, a key supply‐side constraint is the limited availability of seed embodying new traits in the volume, quality, price, and timeliness required by farmers. This constraint is partly attributable to classical failures in the market

Self-assembled particulate PsaA as vaccine against Streptococcus pneumoniae infection

open access: yesHeliyon, 2017
Streptococcus pneumoniae is a human pathogen responsible for the majority of childhood pneumonia and media otitis cases worldwide. The diversity of its capsular polysaccharides (CPS) results in more than 91 serotypes of which at least 23 are virulent ...

Improvement of acetate tolerance of Escherichia coli by introducing the PHB mobilization pathway

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology
Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) mobilization has been recognized as an effective measure in bacteria for host survival under stressful conditions. Here, we report that PHB mobilization is also involved in improving Escherichia coli resistance to acetic acid

Determination of Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) Content in Ralstonia eutropha Using Gas Chromatography and Nile Red Staining

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2018
Ralstonia eutropha H16 produces and mobilizes (re-utilizes) intracellular polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) granules during growth. This protocol describes the visualization of intracellular Nile red stained PHB granules and the quantification of PHB by gas ...

RMD (Resource Management in Diffserv) QoS-NSLP model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This draft describes a local QoS model, denoted as Resource Management in Diffserv (RMD) QoS model, for NSIS that extends the IETF Differentiated Services (Diffserv) architecture with a scalable admission control and resource reservation concept.
