The “PHB Depolymerase Inhibitor” of Paucimonas lemoignei Is a PHB Depolymerase

Biomacromolecules, 2002
A approximately 35 kDa protein that has been described to be secreted by Paucimonas lemoignei during growth on succinate and to inhibit hydrolysis of denatured (crystalline) poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (dPHB) by extracellular PHB depolymerases of P. lemoignei (PHB depolymerase inhibitor (PDI)) was purified and characterized.

Metabolic engineering of Cupriavidus necator H16 for improved chemoautotrophic growth and PHB production under oxygen-limiting conditions.

Metabolic Engineering, 2020
The oxygen-limiting condition promotes the accumulation of ployhydroxybutyrate (PHB) in C. necator H16, while the growth of which is restricted. Under autotrophic culture using carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and oxygen as substrates, the oxygen concentration ...

PHB/PZT composite

2005 12th International Symposium on Electrets, 2006
Flexible standing films of piezoelectric composite made of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramic powder and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) in powder form were obtained by mixing both polymers mechanically and pressed at 180 /spl deg/C. The piezoelectric coefficient d/sub 33/ were investigated as function of PZT content, poling temperature and electric ...

Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) biodegradation using bacterial strains with demonstrated and predicted PHB depolymerase activity

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2018
The biodegradation of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) has been broadly investigated, but studies typically focus on a single strain or enzyme and little attention has been paid to comparing the interaction of different PHB depolymerase (PhaZ)-producing strains with this biopolymer.

A convenient route to PHB macromonomers via anionically controlled moderate‐temperature degradation of PHB

Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2010
AbstractThe degradation of poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate)s in homo‐ and heterogeneous mixtures with selected salts of organic and mineral acids was investigated. Nonvolatile degradation products, of processes conducted at moderate temperatures (150–170 °C), were analyzed using 1H NMR.

Biosynthesis of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) by Cupriavidus necator from various pretreated molasses as carbon source

Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology, 2019
The high production cost of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) particularly substrate cost limits its industrial applications. Reduced substrate cost by utilizing cheaper carbon source enables to improve its economic viability.
