Isolation of phenanthrene-degrading bacteria and characterization of phenanthrene metabolites
World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2006Three aerobic bacterial consortia GY2, GS3 and GM2 were enriched from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-contaminated soils with water-silicone oil biphasic systems. An aerobic bacterial strain utilizing phenanthrene as the sole carbon and energy source was isolated from bacterial consortium GY2 and identified as Sphingomonas sp. strain GY2B.
