Treatment of phenanthrene and benzene using microbial fuel cells operated continuously for possible in situ and ex situ applications [PDF]
Bioelectrochemical systems could have potential for bioremediation of contaminants either in situ or ex situ. The treatment of a mixture of phenanthrene and benzene using two different tubular microbial fuel cells (MFCs) designed for either in situ and ...

BN-Phenanthrene- and BN-Pyrene-Based Fluorescent Uridine Analogues
Two unprecedented fluorescent nucleosides that feature BN-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are presented. One of them, having a BN-modified phenanthrene moiety incorporated, shows blue fluorescence but suffers from poor stability under aqueous ...

Iterative Synthesis of Pyrene–Coronene Molecular Graphene Nanoribbons
An iterative approach delivers a new family of undoped, cove‐edged graphene nanoribbons with lengths up to 9.1 nm that exhibit both molar absorptivity and fluorescence brightness values on the order of 105 M−1 cm−1 and an intrinsic charge‐carrier mobility of 475 ± 32 cm2 V−1 s−1.

The first-principles investigations on magnetic ground-state in Sm-doped phenanthrene
Based on the density functional theory plus the effective Coulomb repulsion U, we have investigated the crystal structure, electronic properties and magnetic characteristics in Sm-doped phenanthrene, recently characterized as a superconductor with Tc∼5−6
