Highly efficient separation of actinides from lanthanides by a phenanthroline-derived bis-triazine ligand [PDF]
The synthesis, lanthanide complexation, and solvent ex- traction of actinide(III) and lanthanide(III) radiotracers from nitric acid solutions by a phenanthroline-derived quadridentate bis-triazine ligand are described. The ligand separates Am(III) and Cm(

Dipolmomente der Phenanthroline / Dipole-Moments of Phenanthrolines
Dipole moments of the ten isomeric phenanthrolines are presented and discussed shortly. They could be computed in a close approximation from the dipole moment vectors of the individual pyridine nuclei. Dipole moments calculated by means of the CNDO/2-method are in agreement with the experimental data.

Lanthanide grafted phenanthroline-polymer for physiological temperature range sensing [PDF]
Accurate measurement of the temperature is crucial as it determines the dynamics of almost any system. Conventional contact thermometers are not well suited for small scale measurements. Temperature dependent luminescent materials, i.e.

5,6-Dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline [PDF]
In the title compound, C14H12N2, the N⋯N distance is 2.719 (1) Å. The N-C-C-N torsion angle [0.9 (1)°] is close to the ideal value of 0° as expected. Bond lengths and angles are consistent with those observed for [1,10]phenanthroline and coordinated 5,6 dimeth-yl[1,10]phenanthroline.

1,10-Phenanthroline–dithiooxamide (2/1) [PDF]
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(8)N(2)·0.5C(2)H(4)N(2)S(2), contains one 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and a half-mol-ecule of dithio-oxamide, which lies across a crystallographic inversion center. The 1,10-phenanthroline unit is not strictly planar, with dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and the pyridine rings of 1.42 (

Polarographic determination of DNA based on its interaction with the phenanthroline-zinc(II) complex [PDF]
By using the linear sweep voltammetric technique, a phenanthroline (Phen) and zinc(II) (Phen-Zn(II)) complex was used as the electrochemical probe for the determination of double-stranded (ds) DNA.
