Electrochemistry of iridium chelates with phenanthroline or substituted phenanthroline and cyclooctadiene

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1989
The electrochemistry of a series of indium chelates with phenanthroline or substituted phenanthroline and cyclooctadiene on Hg, Pt, Au and glassy carbon electrodes is reported. Two quasi-reversible one-electron reductions between −0.8 and −1.1 V and between −1.25 and −1.55 V vs. a saturated calomel electrode were studied. Adsorption and a slow chemical

Synthesis of Hemiprotonic Phenanthroline–Phenanthroline+ Compounds with both Antitumor and Antimicrobial Activity

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2022
Currently, cancer patients with microbial infection are a severe challenge in clinical treatment. To address the problem, we synthesized hemiprotonic compounds based on the unique structure of hemiprotonic nucleotide base pairs in a DNA i-motif. These compounds were produced from phenanthroline (ph) dimerization with phenanthroline as a proton receptor

DNA Interaction of Platinum(II) Complexes with 1,10-Phenanthroline and Extended Phenanthrolines

Inorganic Chemistry, 2005
The interaction with DNA of the platinum(II) square planar complexes [Pt(N-N)(py)(2)](2+) (N-N = 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), dipyrido[3,2-d:2',3'-f]quinoxaline (dpq), dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (dppz), benzodipyrido[b:3,2-h:2'3'-f]phenazine (bdppz)) has been investigated by means of absorption, circular and linear dichroism spectroscopy, DNA ...

Two phenanthroline hydrochlorides

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2000
The crystal and molecular structures of two phenanthroline hydrochlorides have been determined at 173 K. 1,10-Phenanthrolin-1-ium chloride, C12H9N2+·Cl−, crystallizes in two stacks of exactly planar molecules. Both stacks are approximately parallel to the (\bar{2}02) plane and the planes composing the different stacks enclose an angle of 13.29 (3 ...

Diaquamalonato(1,10-phenanthroline)zinc(II)

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2005
In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(C3H2O4)(C12H8N2)(H2O)2], the Zn(II) atom displays a distorted octahedral geometry, being coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms from different carboxylate groups of the chelating malonate dianion and two O atoms of cis water molecules.

Enantiopure Chiral Concave 1,10‐Phenanthrolines

European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
AbstractChiral information has been introduced into concave 1,10‐phenanthrolines of different ring sizes by using a 2,7‐disubstituted naphthalene bridgehead, which causes axial chirality. A tetraphenolic 2‐(dihydroxynaphthyl)‐9‐(dihydroxyphenyl)‐1,10‐phenanthroline was synthesized as a key intermediate.
