Effects of pheromone loading, dispenser age, and trap height on pheromone trap catches of the oriental fruit moth in apple orchards

Phytoparasitica, 2006
The effects of field aging (0–28 days) and pheromone loading rate on the longevity of red rubber septa loaded with the sex pheromone blend of the oriental fruit mothGrapholita molesta (Busck), were evaluated in North Carolina apple orchards in 2002. Separate field tests examined the influence of trap height and pheromone loading rate of rubber septa on

Developing Pheromone Traps and Lures for Maruca vitrata in Taiwan

Gesunde Pflanzen, 2012
The larvae of the legume pod borer, Maruca vitrata (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), cause severe damage on economically important legume crops in the tropics. The female moth produces volatile components to attract males for mating. The so-called sex pheromones are species-specific multi-component blends and are used as lures in crop protection for pest ...

Optimization of Pheromone Traps for Coryphodema tristis (Lepidoptera: Cossidae)

Journal of Economic Entomology, 2017
The Coryphodema tristis (Drury) is an important pest of Eucalyptus nitens (Deane and Maiden) plantations in South Africa. The gregarious larvae of this pest cause damage by feeding on the tree sapwood, and adults emerge in spring each year. The aim of this study was to optimize pheromone traps for operational use in management programs.

MONITORING OF THE APPLE MOTH USING PHEROMONE TRAPS

Scientific Works of North Caucasian Federal Scientific Center of Horticulture Viticulture Wine-making, 2023
In the Volgograd region, monitoring of the apple moth was carried out using pheromone traps. Pheromone traps of the "Atrakon A" type with synthetic pheromones for repelling insects: T, M; and for fishing: dispersion № 1; dispersion № 2 were used to determine the dynamics of the number of pest butterflies.

Experience with pheromone trapping and disruption of moths

Pesticide Science, 1976
AbstractMaxima in the population of the summerfruit tortrix moth, Adoxophyes orana, have been detected in orchards in the Netherlands using traps containing its pheromones. Attempts to disrupt the pheromone communication of A. orana in orchards using geometrical isomers of the pheromone have given variable results.

Inherent Characteristics of Codling Moth Pheromone Traps

Environmental Entomology, 1980
Rubber septa and thermoplastic hollow fibers up to 4 weeks in age attracted moths in a comparable manner. In comparisons made with fresh septa after 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks of aging, rubber septa maintained a consistent level of attraction through at least 16 weeks.

Trapping Studies with Dermestid Sex Pheromones 1

Environmental Entomology, 1976
The effectiveness of dermestid sex pheromone-baited traps as tools for the survey and detection of insect populations, was evaluated at 3 locations in Milwaukee, WI. Traps were constructed of single-backed corrugated paper and were treated with malathion.

Modeling of seasonal dynamics of the pheromone traps catchability

Pheromone traps for the pest management of phycitid moths

Crop Protection, 1983
Abstract Pheromone traps of different designs, suitable for monitoring stored-product phycitids were: (1) a commercially made fly strip; (2) a bottle trap with insecticide or water for killing captured insects and (3) a cylinder trap with half-closed entrances.
