Report of rotifer-ciliate-gastropod hyperepibiosis found on snail (Mollusca) from Goa, India
Here we report a rotifer-ciliate-gastropod hyperepibiosis in freshwater canal, Goa, India. A rotifer Philodina cf. megalotrocha Ehrenberg, 1832 was found attached on the colony of Epistylis plicatilis Ehrenberg, 1838 which was epibiont on gastropod ...

Evaluation of Yellow Mealworm (<i>Tenebrio molitor</i>) Larvae Meal as a Carbon Source in Biofloc System for Dwarf Crayfish (<i>Cambarellus montezumae</i>) Culture. [PDF]
The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of Tenebrio molitor larvae meal as a carbon source in a biofloc system (BFT) to optimize the culture of C. montezumae. A trial was conducted for 24 weeks, 500 T. molitor larvae were reared with wheat bran as substrate, and hydration once a week; at the end, 9000 T.

Influence of environmental and morphological parameters on the microfauna community present in phytotelmata of a bromeliad in a fragment of Atlantic Forest, southern Brazil [PDF]
Bromeliads are important epiphytes due to their abundance in the Neotropical region and morphological complexity. Their compact and imbricated leaf bases form water storage cisterns that promote important resources for colonization by several prokaryotic

New and rare taxa of freshwater zooplankton in the fauna of Yugoslavia [PDF]
Analysis of the faunistic composition of Zooplankton in two reservoirs for watersupply nearby Kragujevac indicated a relatively great diversity. Qualitative analysis of Zooplankton composition in the Grošnica reservoir demonstrated the presence of 105 ...

Abstract Despite being the most important source of liquid freshwater on the planet, groundwater is severely threatened by climate change, agriculture, or industrial mining. It is thus extensively monitored for pollutants and declines in quantity. The organisms living in groundwater, however, are rarely the target of surveillance programmes and little ...

Fine structure of the retrocerebral organ in the rotifer Trichocerca similis (Monogononta)
Abstract The retrocerebral organ (RCO) is a complex glandular system that is widely distributed across species of phylum Rotifera (sensu stricto). This system is hypothesized to secrete mucus that aids in benthic locomotion, adhesion, and/or reproduction.

Reduced ageing in the frozen state in the tardigrade Milnesium inceptum (Eutardigrada: Apochela)
Tardigrades were subjected to subzero temperature treatment by cooling on agar plates from room temperature down to ‐30°C. The specimens were kept for seven days at ‐30°C without temperature fluctuations, after which the animals were allowed to slowly warm. Live and dead animals were recorded after thawing.

Food niches of planktonic rotifers: Diversification and implications
Abstract The diverse diets of common planktonic rotifers are described in detail from field and laboratory observations and experiments. Also considered are methodological approaches, rotifer feeding mechanisms, and the availability in natural waters of less well‐known food items (detritus, picoplankton, protozoans).

Oceanographic barriers affect the phylogeographic pattern of rotifers in continental waters and maintaining genetic diversity in nature. The divergence indicates that gene flow between eastern North America and Southeastern China is limited while that within eastern North America or Southeastern China was higher.
