As with any highly systematic body of thought, Hegel’s philosophy of mind can be reconstructed from many perspectives. Each one gives us something though some are more illuminating than others. But I believe that it is particularly illuminating to see Hegel’s Philosophy of mind though the perspective of his philosophy of action.

The universe contains many amazing things. At the smallest level there are inconceivably small particles with exotic names such as quarks and neutrinos. These form the basic building blocks of atoms such as hydrogen and nitrogen. From these atoms the whole material world is formed, from tiny organisms such as amoeba, to large mammals such as elephants.
