Phlogopite-based glass ceramics

The transformation of microstructure in the crystallization process, and the factors influencing the electrical properties of the material, are emphatically discussed.

Phlogopite synthesis and stability range
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1954Abstract A hydroxyl-bearing phlogopite has been synthesized and its upper stability limit determined up to 75,000 psi water vapour pressure. Above the upper stability limit the stable phases are forsterite + leucite + orthorhombic KAlSiO4 + vapour.

Hyperfine Interactions, 1990Ultramafic xenoliths of mantle origin occur in Hungarian Cretaceous lamprophyres. The aim of the present work was to determine the iron positions and their occupancy in phlogopites originated from ultramafic xenoliths by the help of Mossbauer spectroscopy.
