Phobic disorders and fear of crime in the elderly

This study examines the fear of crime reported by a community sample of elderly cases of phobic disorder, compared with age- and sex-matched controls. The cases expressed more fear for personal safety and fear of property crime than did the controls, and fear of crime was regarded as a more serious problem by the cases.

An Investigation into the Use of Anafranil in Phobic and Obsessional Disorders

A multicentre clinical trial of clomipramine in the treatment of obsessional and phobic disorders in general practice is described. All phobias showed an improvement in situational anxiety, interference and autonomic side effects. With the exception of two cases of animal phobia there was also improvement in general anxiety and avoidance.
