The chromosomes of the southern elephant seal, Mirounga leonina(Phocidae: Mammalia)
Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics, 2008Chromosome analyses were carried out on bone marrow cells from three elephant seal pups (Mirounga leonina), a species characterized by a 2n = 34 chromosome number. Arm ratios for the different chromosomes were calculated to facilitate the classification of chromosomes into groups.

Australian Mammalogy, 2012Five species of phocid seal of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica come ashore occasionally on the southern Australian coast but do not breed there. Pinniped mating systems on land, ice and in the water: Emphasis on the Phocidae
1991Dunnocks, Prunella modularis, ait small brown passerines that exhibit an extremely variable mating system. The mating system of a population of 90 breeders, studied by Nicolas Davies and collaborators in the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, consists of several mating combinations (Davies, 1983, 1985; Davies and Lund-berg, 1984, 1985).
