Species‐Specific qPCR Assays for Detecting Blue, Fin, and Sei Whales (Balaenoptera spp.) From Offshore Environmental DNA Samples

Species‐specific eDNA qPCR assays were developed and validated for blue, fin, and sei whales and were tested alongside visual surveys in the northwest Atlantic. Results show strong concordance for fin whales, demonstrating eDNA's value for enhancing offshore monitoring of at‐risk large whales.
