Experimental study on the sound absorption characteristics of continuously graded phononic crystals
Novel three-dimensional (3D) continuously graded phononic crystals (CGPCs) have been designed, and fabricated by 3D printing. Each of the CGPCs is an entity instead of a combination of several other samples, and the porosity distribution of the CGPC ...

Dynamical Modulation of Dual‐Band Thermal Emission in a Graphene‐2D‐hBN‐LiV2O5 Heterostructure
A van der Waals heterostructure combining graphene, 2D‐hBN, and LiV2O5 enables dynamically tunable dual‐band mid‐infrared thermal emission with narrow spectral features. Plasmon–phonon strong coupling yields five hybrid polariton branches, whereas coupled‐oscillator models quantify mode mixing and Rabi splittings (up to 27.72 meV via hBN‐thickness ...

Asymptotic Modeling of Phononic Box Crystals
We introduce phononic box crystals, namely arrays of adjoined perforated boxes, as a three-dimensional prototype for an unusual class of subwavelength metamaterials based on directly coupling resonating elements. In this case, when the holes coupling the boxes are small, we create networks of Helmholtz resonators with nearest-neighbour interactions. We

Magnetic Control of Chiral Hybridized Phonon Magnetic Moments in Ferrimagnets Fe2‐xZnxMo3O8
Helicity‐resolved magneto‐Raman spectroscopy reveals magnetic control of chiral phonon magnetic moments in polar ferrimagnet (ZnxFe2−xMo3O₈). Large spontaneous zero‐field phonon splittings, selective phonon–magnon coupling, and asymmetric Zeeman responses demonstrate that phonon chirality is governed by magnon‐phonon coupling and magnetization.

The Propagation, Excitation and Coupling of Acoustic Waves in Phonon Band-gap Materials
Acoustic wave exhibits inherently different characters of propagation, excitation and coupling in phonon band-gap materials in which its elastic, piezoelectric constants are modulated in order of acoustic wavelength.

Soda Cans Metamaterial: A Subwavelength-Scaled Phononic Crystal
Photonic or phononic crystals and metamaterials, due to their very different typical spatial scales—wavelength and deep subwavelength—and underlying physical mechanisms—Bragg interferences or local resonances—, are often considered to be very different ...

Large Anomalous Nernst Effect in Disordered CoPt Thin Films for Planar Thermoelectric Sensing
Disordered CoPt thin films exhibit a large anomalous Nernst effect with strong dependence on Pt concentration. The transverse thermoelectric response reaches 3.22 µV K−1 near equiatomic composition and an ANE sensitivity of 0.3 µm A−1. The results reveal that composition‐controlled microstructure in sputtered CoPt alloys provides an effective route for

The review discusses stimuli‐responsive hydrogels as soft optical materials that translate physical, chemical, and biological cues into refractive‐index, scattering, birefringence, diffraction, and transparency changes. It examines major stimulus classes and photonic architectures for biosensing, waveguiding, adaptive lenses, smart windows, and therapy.
