Evaluating the variability of gafsa phosphate rock uptake by oil palm genotypes at nursery stage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The application of phosphate fertilizer in crops accounts for 90% of the total world’s mineral phosphate mined and the reserve of phosphate rock in the world continues to deplete.

N, P and K budgets for crop rotations on nine organic farms in the UK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
On organic farms, where the importation of materials to build/maintain soil fertility is restricted, it is important that a balance between inputs and outputs of nutrients is achieved to ensure both short-term productivity and long-term sustainability ...

Recapitulating Endochondral Ossification for Bone Repair: From Development to Engineering Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the developmental basis of endochondral ossification (ECO) and its applications in bone tissue engineering (BTE). It first outlines the key biological processes and signaling pathways underlying ECO, then discusses biomaterial‐based engineering strategies derived from these principles, and finally highlights future directions for

Matrix Viscoelasticity Regulates Dendritic Cell Migration and Immune Priming

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Matrix viscoelasticity is a key mechanical feature of the tumor microenvironment but remains poorly understood in immune regulation. Here, we develop a tunable collagen platform to decouple viscoelasticity from stiffness and show that slow‐relaxing matrices constrain dendritic cell migration by limiting actomyosin‐driven matrix remodeling, thereby ...

Effect of heavy store dressing with rock phosphate on a fine sand soil

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1969
Results are reported of a long-term field trial on acid fine sand soil in which the effects of store dressing with rock phosphate in amounts of 0, 4000, 8000, or 12000 kg/ha was studied comparing them with an annual application of 200 kg/ha of ...

Applying Hubbert Curves and Linearization to Rock Phosphate [PDF]

open access: yes
Rock phosphate is a critical, nonrenewable resource for which there is no known substitute in agriculture. Cordell, Drangert, and White (2009) use Hubbert methodology (1956) to estimate the peak--the year after which production will monotonically decline-

Test of airborne fluorometer over land surfaces and geologic materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Response of an experimental Fraunhofer line discriminator to a wide range of surficial deposits common in deserts and semideserts was tested in the laboratory and from an H-19 helicopter.

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.
