Interaction of fluoxetine with phosphatidylcholine liposomes
Biophysical Chemistry, 2005Fluoxetine (Prozac) is one of the latest of a new generation of antidepressants, approved by FDA in 2002. The interactions of fluoxetine with multilamellar liposomes of pure phosphatidylcholine (PC) or containing cholesterol 10% molar were studied as a function of the lipid chain lengths, using differential scanning calorimetry and spin labelling EPR ...

Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 1976
The solubility of phosphatidylcholine (PC) was studied by the spectroscopic analysis and the measurement of the solubility. The qualitative analysis of infrared absorption spectra confirmed the existence of two types of hydrogen bondings between chloroform and PC, one between chloroform and the C=O group of PC and the other between chloroform and the ...

Cystic fibrosis and phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1994The cystic fibrosis (CF) gene defect may be associated with a defect in membrane recycling. We have investigated the metabolism of the main constituent of plasma membrane, phosphatidylcholine (PC). In this study of platelets and fibroblasts, we show an increased uptake of choline into PC of CF cells as compared with normal cells.
