Self-Complementary Phosphonate Cavitands

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
iii-Phosphorylated cavitands incorporating an N-methylpyridinium guest moiety as the fourth bridging unit form supramolecular associations by inclusion of the charged CH(3)N(+)-pyridinium head into a neighboring host cavity. The dimeric association is favored in solution and was characterized by NMR, mass spectrometry, DOSY experiments, and single ...

Ethyl (2-pyridylmethyl)phosphonate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2004
Molecules of the title compound, C8H12NO3P, exist as zwitterions. The positive charge formally located on the N atom is spread over the pyridyl ring. A partial delocalization of negative charge within the O-P-O system is observed. The conformational features and hydrogen-bonding network of the title compound are compared with the structure of (2 ...

Multifunctional p-phosphonated calixarenes

Chemical Communications, 2011
p-Phosphonic acid calix[n]arenes and their O-alkylated lower rim analogues are remarkably versatile macrocycles, with applications in selective diameter uptake of single walled carbon nano-tubes, as surfactants in stabilising and protecting nano-particles and graphene sheets, as crystal growth modifiers for inorganic systems, in encapsulating molecules

Furoyl phosphonates

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2016
A series of furoyl phosphonates bearing methyl, methoxymethyl, and diethoxyphosphorylmethyl groups in the furan ring have been synthesized via the Arbuzov reaction from the corresponding acid chlorides. NMR spectral parameters of the prepared compounds were studied. The values of coupling constants between the phosphorus nuclei and the carbon nuclei of

Phosphonate quinoxalinedione AMPA antagonists

Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience, 2000
In the Western world, over 350,000 deaths and $30 billion in medical costs are attributed annually to stroke. Head and spinal cord trauma cause an estimated 250,000 deaths annually and result in medical costs of $15 billion. Although stroke and head/spinal cord trauma are leading causes of disability and death in humans, no adequate neuroprotective ...

Phosphonate Lipid Tubules II

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2002
We describe a new chiral tubule-forming lipid in which the C-O-P phosphoryl linkage of the archetypal tubule-forming molecule, 1,2-bis(10,12-tricosadiynoyl)-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, "DC(8,9)PC", is replaced by a C-P linkage. Tubule formation with this phosphonate analogue proceeds under the same mild conditions as with DC(8,9)PC and produces ...

New multifunctional phosphonic acid for metal phosphonate synthesis

Journal of Molecular Structure, 2013
Abstract A new heterotopic phosphonic acid, 3-amino-5-(dihydroxyphosphoryl)benzoic acid (1) has been synthesized and obtained in the crystalline form. Second multifunctional phosphonic acid – namely 3-(dihydroxyphosphoryl)-5-nitrobenzoic acid (2) has also been obtained, following a different synthetic route than previously reported.
