Charge Distribution of Phosphonium Ionic Liquids: Phosphonium versus Phosphate

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is used to study six trihexyltetradecyl phosphonium ionic liquids. The charge distribution in both the phosphonium cation and the phosphate anion is discussed in detail.
