Phosphoprotein Inhibitors of Protein Phosphatase-1
2003Publisher Summary The chapter discusses phosphoprotein inhibitors of protein phosphatase-1(PP1). Over 25 years ago, a search for proteins that could regulate phosphorylase phosphatase yielded heat-stable proteins that were called “inhibitor-1” (I-1) and “inhibitor-2” (I-2).

Phosphoprotein phosphatase activities in rat luteal cells
Biochemical Society Transactions, 1995The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins is known to play an integral part in the metabolic processes of a cell 111. Whilst the importance of protein kinases and phosphorylation in regulating luteal cell steroidogenesis is widely accepted [2], the involvement of phosphoprotein phosphatases (PP) in the regulation of luteal cell function ...

Phosphoprotein Phosphatase Function of Secreted Purple Acid Phosphatases
2020Purple acid phosphatases (PAPs) are metalloenzymes that hydrolyze orthophosphate (Pi) from Pi monoesters with an acidic pH optimum. Plant PAPs belong to a relatively large gene family whose respective functions remain poorly understood. However, it has been well established that certain Pi-starvation-inducible vacuolar PAP isozymes remobilize Pi from ...

[Phosphoprotein phosphatase nonspecifically hydrolyzes CoA].
Ukrainskii biokhimicheskii zhurnal (1978), 1989CoA hydrolysis was studied by a homogenous phosphoprotein phosphatase (EC 3.1 3.16) preparation from bovine spleen nuclei at pH 5.8. Phosphoprotein phosphatase catalyzed hydrolysis of the CoA 3'-phosphoester bond to form dephospho-CoA and Pi. The Km value for phosphoprotein phosphatase with CoA as substrate was 3.7 mM, the specific activity - 0.26 mmol
