The role of photic stimulation in the induction of hypnotic trance
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1964Abstract The relative effectiveness of the ordinary verbal method of trance induction is compared with 2 forms of induction utilizing mechanical photic stimulation, and with methods combining the personal and mechanical features. The criterion of trance adopted was the compulsive carrying out of a difficult suggestion.

EFFECT OF PHOTIC STIMULATION ON THE HUMAN MENSTRUAL CYCLE
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 1978Abstract— A theoretical rationale is presented to justify a study of the effect of light on the variability of the menstrual cycle. The experiment consisted of exposure to light all night for several consecutive nights of cycle days 14 through 17, day one being determined by the first day of menses.

Use of rhythmically varying patterns for photic stimulation
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1952Abstract 1. 1. A method of producing photic stimulation by means of a periodically altered pattern is presented to be used with EEG investigations. 2. 2. This method circumvents the more bothersome artifacts occasioned in the use of the standard strobe light. 3. 3. The “pattern driving effect” may be easily observed in the occipital leads

The treatment of congenital idiopathic nystagmus by intermittent photic stimulation
Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 1983Abstract An analysis is presented of the results obtained by treating 54 patients with congenital nystagmus using intermittent photic stimulation. The major beneficial effect has been to improve the visual acuity, though the nystagmus itself is sometimes reduced in amplitude or even eliminated; an unexpected ...
