This study demonstrates that acupuncture at the Governor Vessel acupoints GV14, GV20 and GV26 alleviates neuronal death after cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury (CIRI) by reinstating IRP2/IRE‐mediated iron homeostasis and suppressing ferroptosis. ABSTRACT Acupuncture (AC) has been demonstrated to improve outcomes in ischemic stroke.

Heterometal–Organic Cages as Photo-Fenton-like Catalysts
Inorganic Chemistry, 2021Metal-organic cages, a class of supramolecular containers constructed by the self-assembly of metal ions and organic ligands, show great promise as catalytic agents. In this work, we designed and synthesized a series of rhombic dodecahedral Ni-Cu heterometal imidazolate cages (Ni8Cu6L24) that can act as highly active photo-Fenton-like catalysts.

Photo-Fenton-like and photo-fenton-like oxidation of Procaine Penicillin G formulation effluent
Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry, 2004Abstract In the present study, the degradation of Procaine Penicillin G (PPG) formulation effluent by Fenton-like (Fe3+/H2O2) and UV-A light assisted Fenton-like (Fe3+/H2O2/UV-A) processes have been investigated at pH = 3. The effects of different process variables such as the initial Fe3+and H2O2 concentrations, reaction time and UV-A light on PPG ...

Oxidation of TNT by photo-Fenton process
Chemosphere, 2004A series of photo-Fenton reactions have been performed for the degradation of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) in a 4.2-l reactor. The degradation reaction rate of TNT followed a pseudo-first-order behavior; and the rate constants for 2.4mW cm(-2)UV only, 2.4mW cm(-2)UV/H(2)O(2), Fenton, photo-Fenton (2.4mW cm(-2)) and photo-Fenton (4.7mW cm(-2)) were 0 ...

Heterogeneous Photo-Fenton Technology
2018Organic pollutants, especially dye pollution, cause great concern owing to their being toxic, carcinogenic, and harmful to the nature and human beings. The wastewater treatment technology, equipment, and catalysts have been the focus of environmental scientific researchers beyond dispute.

Photo-Fenton Reaction at Near Neutral pH
Environmental Science & Technology, 2009The photo-Fenton reaction, oxidation of photoproduced ferrous iron by hydrogen peroxide, produces reactive oxidants that may be important to degradation of biologically and chemically recalcitrant organic compounds in surface waters at circum-neutral pH. Sufficient Fe(II) for the photo-Fenton reaction was produced in situ at two field sites (pH 6.1-7.1)

Ferrite formation from photo-Fenton treated wastewater
Chemosphere, 2010Photo-Fenton oxidation followed by ferrite formation was applied for the degradation of a representative organic compound, phenol, and the subsequent removal of the Fe ions. At a phenol:Fe(II):H(2)O(2) molar ratio of 1:0.5:15, TOC analysis showed almost complete mineralization of 10.6mM phenol after 2h at a controlled pH of 3.

Photoirradiation has been introduced into the homogeneous and heterogeneous Fenton system, improving the reaction activity through accelerating the reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+. Carriers including clay, porous, and graphene materials are widely used for the loading and fixing of iron-based nanoparticles. Leaching and loss of iron species can be prevented.
