Photoacoustic Drug Delivery

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Photoacoustic (PA) technology holds great potential in clinical translation as a new non-invasive bioimaging modality. In contrast to conventional optical imaging, PA imaging (PAI) enables higher resolution imaging with deeper imaging depth. Besides applications for diagnosis, PA has also been extended to theranostic applications.

Photoacoustic-guided focused ultrasound (PAFUSion) for identifying reflection artifacts in photoacoustic imaging

open access: yesPhotoacoustics, 2015
Influence of acoustic inhomogeneities and resulting reflection artifacts is an important problem in reflection-mode photoacoustic imaging. Absorption of light by skin and superficial optical absorbers will generate photoacoustic transients, which ...

In vivo tumor detection with combined MR–Photoacoustic-Thermoacoustic imaging [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences, 2016
Here, we report a new method using combined magnetic resonance (MR)–Photoacoustic (PA)–Thermoacoustic (TA) imaging techniques, and demonstrate its unique ability for in vivo cancer detection using tumor-bearing mice.

Effects of optical attenuation, heat diffusion and acoustic coherence in photoacoustic signals produced by nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2018
Behavior of the photoacoustic signal produced by nanoparticles as a function of their concentration was studied in detail. As the concentration of nanoparticles is increased in a sample, the peak-to-peak photoacoustic amplitude increases linearly up to a

Deep Learning‐Assisted Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The analytical capabilities of coherent Raman scattering microscopy are augmented through deep learning integration. This synergistic paradigm improves fundamental performance via denoising, deconvolution, and hyperspectral unmixing. Concurrently, it enhances downstream image analysis including subcellular localization, virtual staining, and clinical ...

Biomedical photoacoustics in China

open access: yesPhotoacoustics, 2013
During the last decade, along with its explosive growth globally, biomedical photoacoustics has become a rapidly growing research field in China as well. In particular, photoacoustic tomography (PAT), capable of imaging intact biological tissue in vivo at great depths, has generated intense interest among Chinese researchers.

Photoacoustic generation by a gold nanosphere: From linear to nonlinear thermoelastics in the long-pulse illumination regime

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate theoretically the photoacoustic generation by a gold nanosphere in water in the thermoelastic regime. Specifically, we consider the long-pulse illumination regime, in which the time for electron-phonon thermalisation can be neglected and ...

Autonomous AI‐Driven Design for Skin Product Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review presents a comprehensive closed‐loop framework for autonomous skin product formulation design. By integrating artificial intelligence‐driven experiment selection with automated multi‐tiered assays, the approach shifts development from trial‐and‐error to intelligent optimisation.
