MODELLING AND VERIFICATION OF THERMOACOUSTIC MEDICAL IMAGING FROM NANOSCOPIC TO MACROSCOPIC RESOLUTIONS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this thesis, three main questions regarding the potential of thermoacoustic imaging are answered: 1) what are the conventional resolution limitations of photoacoustic imaging and how can they be extended to enable high-resolution imaging, 2) Can ...

Photoacoustic Doppler flowmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We report flow measurements based on the photoacoustic Doppler effect. We have performed flow experiments with a suspension of micrometer carbon particles and have detected the photoacoustic Doppler shift at various average flow speeds.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 46, 8 June 2026.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Plasmonic–Diamond Hybrids: Tunable Optical and Thermal Response for Nanoscale Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
Finite‐element simulations demonstrate that nanodiamond cores precisely regulate plasmonic coupling, absorption, electric‐field confinement, and photothermal heating in gold and silver nanoparticle clusters. By identifying interparticle spacing, particle number, core conductivity, and surrounding refractive index as key design parameters, this work ...
