Photoacoustic spectra of MoS_2

Applied Optics, 1983
The photoacoustic spectra of powdered MoS2 prepared by particle-size reduction and dilution have been determined and compared with the optical transmittance spectra of single crystals and thin-film deposits. MoS2 was chosen as a typical representative of the layer-structured transition metal dichalcogenides, for which optical properties are important ...

Photoacoustic imaging endoscope

2009 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2009
We currently present a design concept for a photoacoustic imaging endoscope as well as some preliminary experimental results. The device is based on the generation of acoustic waves in tissue by short laser pulses and the sensing of these waves with a thin, optical Fabry-Pérot etalon.

Multimodal Photoacoustic Tomography

IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2013
Currently available optical microscopic imaging techniques-confocal microscopy, multi-photon (also referred to as two-photon) microscopy, and optical coherence tomography-have revolutionized biological and medical research, based on strong optical contrast and high spatial resolution.

Photoacoustic Investigation of Pesticides

1989
The photoacoustic effect caused by the absorption of the modulated radiation thereby leading to the generation of sound in the gas at the very same chopping frequency, has emerged as a valuable tool for a variety of applications. This is described in several excellent books and review articles on this topic [1,2,3,4,5].

Resonant Photoacoustic Spectroscopy

1983
Nearly one hundred years after Bells discovery, resonant photoacoustic spectroscopy awoke from a long sleep. The introduction of lasers as radiation sources has led to rapid development of photoacoustics in the last ten years. Experimental results obtained under carefully optimized conditions are now in good agreement with theory of resonators.
