A Method for Delineation of Bone Surfaces in Photoacoustic Computed Tomography of the Finger [PDF]
Photoacoustic (PA) imaging of interphalangeal peripheral joints is of interest in the context of using the synovial membrane as a surrogate marker of rheumatoid arthritis. Previous work has shown that ultrasound (US) produced by absorption of light at the epidermis reflects on the bone surfaces within the finger.

A polymeric graft loaded with radiopaque bismuth nanoparticles is expected to undergo gradual polymer resorption and nanoparticle release. This design enables noninvasive, multimodal monitoring of device integrity, patency, and degradation using computed tomography alongside ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging over 12 weeks.

Transcranial photoacoustic computed tomography based on a layered back-projection method
A major challenge of transcranial human brain photoacoustic computed tomography (PACT) is correcting for the acoustic aberration induced by the skull. Here, we present a modified universal back-projection (UBP) method, termed layered UBP (L-UBP), that ...

Transcranial photoacoustic computed tomography of human brain function
Herein we report the first in-human transcranial imaging of brain function using photoacoustic computed tomography. Functional responses to benchmark motor tasks were imaged on both the skull-less and the skull-intact hemispheres of a hemicraniectomy ...
