Nanoparticles Functionalized with Polymer Brushes for Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
The engineering of the next generation gene delivery vectors requires the precise control of the architecture and physicochemical interactions controlling the transport, targeting, uptake, and release of nucleic acid materials to targeted cells. Polymer brush‐functionalized nanomaterials offer unprecedented control over such design and properties, and ...

Noninvasive Detection and Thermal Ablation Therapy of Endometriosis Using Silica‐Coated Gold Nanorods

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
AuNR@Si(F)‐PEG nanoparticles are developed as theranostic agents for the noninvasive detection and photothermal therapy of endometriosis. The particles are preferentially taken up by the endometriosis lesions under photoacoustic image‐guidance, and used as thermal ablation therapeutics to shrink the lesions.

STRATUM CORNEUM STUDIES WITH PHOTOACOUSTIC SPECTROSCOPY

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1977
Conventional spectroscopic studies on opaque membranes are difficult to pursue because of excessive light scattering and complications arising from the specimen's surface. Recently, a new spectroscopic technique, photoacoustic spectroscopy, unlike conventional optical spectroscopy, has been demonstrated to be an informative technique amenable to ...

“Dead Lithium” Formation and Mitigation Strategies in Anode‐Free Li‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Anode‐free lithium metal batteries, though promising due to their high energy density, face challenges from dead lithium formation. “Dead lithium”, disconnected from the anode, causes capacity loss, increased resistance, and safety risks. This review explores the origins of dead lithium, its impact on battery performance, and potential strategies for ...
