Functional photoacoustic tomography of animal brains [PDF]
This research is primarily focused on laser-based non-invasive photoacoustic tomography of small animal brains. Photoacoustic tomography, a novel imaging modality, was applied to visualize the distribution of optical absorptions in small-animal brains ...

Atomically precise metal cluster enzymes for pathological tissue regeneration
Schematic illustration of atomically precise metal cluster enzymes (MCEs) for pathological tissue regeneration. Atomically precise MCEs can modulate biological processes, such as attenuation of inflammatory responses, eradication of bacterial pathogens, regulation of angiogenesis, and promotion of cell development.

Programmable three‐state nanoreactor for spatiotemporally controlled tumor therapy
The OMVs are shielded with a biocompatible Da–Ca shell, which prolongs its circulation period and promotes intratumoral accumulation. Importantly, the biocompatible Da–Ca shell can be controllably disintegrated in tumor microenvironment by using laser irradiation, generating in situ hyperthermia and releasing Ca2+.

A near‐infrared (NIR) light‐activated “lock‐key” nanodevice is reported for spatiotemporally resolved detection of intratumoral L‐lactate. The system stays silent until deep‐penetrating NIR light remotely unlocks its function, allowing for precise sensing within tumors.

Photostability of Cyanine Dyes and Its Correlation to Their Photothermal and Photodynamic Effects
Photostability (PS) of dyes is a crucial parameter for performance in biological applications, yet often underrated. Here PS of several cyanines is investigated. The method is carefully evaluated and designed as a general and easy tool to compare PS of NIR dyes.

Visualization of murine lymph vessels using photoacoustic imaging with contrast agents
Metastasis frequently occurs even in the early stage of breast cancer. This research studied the feasibility of using photoacoustic (PA) imaging for identifying metastasis in the lymph vessels of mice.

Comparison of Deconvolution Filters for Photoacoustic Tomography
In this work, we compare the merits of three temporal data deconvolution methods for use in the filtered backprojection algorithm for photoacoustic tomography (PAT). We evaluate the standard Fourier division technique, the Wiener deconvolution filter, and a Tikhonov L-2 norm regularized matrix inversion method.
