Ground-state selection via many-body superradiant decay
For a single particle, relaxation into different ground states is governed by fixed branching ratios determined by the transition matrix element and the environment.

All-optical generation and photoassociative probing of sodium Bose-Einstein condensates
We demonsatrate an all optical technique to evaporatively produce sodium Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC). We use a crossed-dipole trap formed from light near 1060 nm, and a simple ramp of the intensity to force evaporation.

Photoassociation of rovibrational Rydberg molecules
In this work we discuss the rotational structure of Rydberg molecules. We calculate the complete wave function in a laboratory fixed frame and derive the transition matrix elements for the pho- toassociation of free ground state atoms. We discuss the implications for the excitation of different rotational states as well as the shape of the angular ...

Photoassociation spectra and the validity of the dipole approximation for weakly bound dimers
Photoassociation (PA) of ultracold metastable helium to the 2s2p manifold is theoretically investigated using a non-perturbative close-coupled treatment in which the laser coupling is evaluated without assuming the dipole approximation.

Phase Coherence in a Driven Double-Well System
We analyze the dynamics of the molecular field incoherently pumped by the photoassociation of fermionic atoms and coupled by quantum tunnelling in a double-well potential.
