Conservative treatment with mouthwashes followed by tongue photo biomodulation therapy in Covid-19: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2022
Background Oral manifestations of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including ulcers, herpetiform lesions, macules, and petechiae, among others, are becoming increasingly recognized, but there is little guidance on their treatment. Reported cases have

Optimization of photobiomodulation therapy for spinal cord injury: A review

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy in the red and near‐infrared range can significantly modulate the secondary injury response and promote the reparative and regenerative potential of neural tissue after spinal cord injury (SCI). At present, due to the nature of delivery methods, the most effective dose and irradiance at the injury site to optimize ...

The impact of photobiomodulation on angiogenic differentiation of two different dental derived stem cells using two irradiation protocols: an in vitro investigation

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
The present study aimed to compare the effect of photobiomodulation with different energy densities on the angiogenic differentiation of human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) and stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED ...

Photobiomodulation Therapy in the Treatment of Oral Mucositis, Dysgeusia and Oral Dryness as Side-Effects of Head and Neck Radiotherapy in a Cancer Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesDentistry Journal, 2018
Successful management of oral mucositis, dysgeusia and oral dryness was made with five sessions of photobiomodulation. The severity of oral mucositis was measured according to the World Health Organization scale for the assessment of oral mucositis ...

Role of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) and systemic resveratrol on immediate implant placement in type 2 diabetic rats

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the combined effects of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) and systemic resveratrol on bone repair around immediately placed implants in type 2 diabetic rats. Resveratrol improved glycemic control and body weight, while aPDT increased implant stability and bone mineralization.

LED Device Illuminates New Path to Healing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Among NASA s research goals is increased understanding of factors affecting plant growth, including the effects of microgravity. Impeding such studies, traditional light sources used to grow plants on Earth are difficult to adapt to space flight, as they

670-nm light treatment reduces complement propagation following retinal degeneration

open access: yes, 2016
AIM Complement activation is associated with the pathogenesis of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). We aimed to investigate whether 670-nm light treatment reduces the propagation of complement in a light-induced model of atrophic AMD.

Effects of photobiomodulation therapy on pulmonary inflammation in chronic asthma: Dosimetric study in an experimental model

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) was evaluated across a radiant energy range (1–7.5 J) in a murine model of chronic ovalbumin‐induced asthma to identify the optimal therapeutic dose. PBMT attenuated airway inflammation and remodelling, suppressed Th2 cytokines, and enhanced regulatory immune responses, highlighting a dose‐dependent immunomodulatory ...

Analgesic effects of platelet‐rich fibrin (PRF): A systematic review

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Platelet‐rich fibrin (PRF), a second‐generation autologous platelet concentrate, has gained significant interest for its anti‐inflammatory and regenerative characteristics. While its role in tissue healing is well‐recognized, the analgesic potential of PRF remains under‐investigated.
