Electrochemiluminescence Loss in Photobleaching

Angewandte Chemie - International Edition, 2021
AbstractThe effects of photobleaching on electrochemiluminescence (ECL) was investigated for the first time. The plasma membrane of Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells was labeled with a [Ru(bpy)3]2+ derivative. Selected regions of the fixed cells were photobleached using the confocal mode with sequential stepwise illumination or cumulatively and they ...

Many-Photon Dynamics of Photobleaching

Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2007
A detailed dynamical theory of photobleaching by periodical sequences of laser pulses is presented. The theory is used for interpretation of recent experiments with pyrylium salts. Our simulations are based on first-principles simulations of photoabsorption cross-sections and on empirical rate constants.

Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching

open access: yes, 2011
This chapter describes the use of microscope-based fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP). To quantify the dynamics of proteins within a subcellular compartment, we first outline the general aspects of FRAP experiments and then provide a detailed protocol of how to measure and analyse the most important parameters of FRAP experiments such as

Fluorescence photobleaching in DNA sequencing

Advances in Biophysics, 1996
Abstract Advances in DNA-sequencing technology suggest many possibilities using either conventional or unconventional means. Several approaches offer conceivable improvements in running time by one hundred fold or more. A fluorescence photobleaching scheme in combination with ultra-thin gel slab or capillary electrophoresis which proposes to shorten ...

Laser-Assisted Adsorption by Photobleaching

2014
This chapter presents a simple method to produce substrate-bound protein patterns of micrometer resolution. Our approach uses only low power visible lasers and commercially available reagents to obtain arbitrary patterns of wide concentration range.

Acetylation of wood causes photobleaching

Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology, 2010
This paper deals with the photobleaching of acetylated wood. The acetylated spruce wood was irradiated by artificial sunlight emitted from xenon lamp with covering several kinds of band-pass filter. The lightness (L(*)) of acetylated wood increased with integral irradiance. The chroma (ΔC(*)) decreased by light-irradiation with wavelength from 430nm to

The effect of photobleaching on PLIF

Experiments in Fluids, 2006
Organic dyes commonly used for planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) are susceptible to photobleaching under laser excitation. Previous work has shown that photobleaching can induce significant errors in laser-induced fluorescence measurements made with single-point techniques.
