Constructing a MoS2 QDs/CdS Core/Shell Flowerlike Nanosphere Hierarchical Heterostructure for the Enhanced Stability and Photocatalytic Activity

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
MoS2 quantum dots (QDs)/CdS core/shell nanospheres with a hierarchical heterostructure have been prepared by a simple microwave hydrothermal method. The as-prepared samples are characterized by XRD, TEM, SEM, UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) and ...

H2O2‐Generating Advanced Nanomaterials for Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
H2O2‐generating nanoplatforms can exploit tumor redox imbalance for O2 and toxic reactive oxygen species generation, leading to hypoxia reversal, and apoptosis of cancer cells, respectively. This review highlights the mechanisms of these nanoplatforms, including exogenous H₂O₂ delivery, endogenous amplification, and metal peroxides, which leads to ...

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Evaluation of a TiO2 photocatalysis treatment on nitrophenols and nitramines contaminated plant wastewaters by solid-phase extraction coupled with ESI HPLC–MS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Nitration reactions of aromatic compounds are commonly involved in different industrial processes for pharmaceutical, pesticide or military uses. For many years, most of the manufacturing sites used lagooning systems to treat their process effluents.
