Photocatalytic degradation of sulfa drugs
2012Pharmaceuticals are chemical substances which are used to treat and prevent disease in human and in animals. In farming they are also used as additives to feedstock in order to promote growth in animals. The presence of pharmaceuticals in the environment raises a big concern due to their continuous input in the environment via different pathways.

Photocatalytic degradation of pesticides

Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Contaminants
1994Heterogeneous photocatalysis of many organic compounds, in oxic aqueous suspensions of semiconductor particles (e.g., Ti02) leads in almost all cases to quantitative formation of carbon dioxide and, eventually, inorganic anions. The fundamentals of heterogeneous photocatalysis and the possible application in the treatment of both waste waters and ...

Photocatalytic degradation of textile dyes.
Journal of environmental science & engineering, 2011The photocatalytic degradation of commonly used textile dyes, namely, Reactive Black-5 (RB-5), Red (ME4BL), Golden Yellow (MERL), Blue-222, Methylene Blue, and Malachite Green, has been studied, using TiO2 (P25) as a photocatalyst. All the dye solutions could be decolorized.

HETEROGENEOUS PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF TERBUTHYAZINE
2013Modern industrial progress has generated a vast range of toxic, non-biodegradable compounds of synthetic nature, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, dyes as well as pest control compounds. These compounds can be present in the surrounding soil, leachate and wastewater, but their removal using conventional wastewater treatment (biological ...
