Synthesis of visible-light-activated yellow amorphous TiO2 photocatalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Visible-light-activated yellow amorphous TiO2 (yam-TiO2) was synthesised by a simple and organic-free precipitation method. TiN, an alternative precursor for TiO2 preparation, was dissolved in hydrogen peroxide under acidic condition ( pH similar to 1 ...

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

Photocatalytic Removal of Microcystin-LR by Advanced WO3-Based Nanoparticles under Simulated Solar Light

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2015
A series of advanced WO3-based photocatalysts including CuO/WO3, Pd/WO3, and Pt/WO3 were synthesized for the photocatalytic removal of microcystin-LR (MC-LR) under simulated solar light. In the present study, Pt/WO3 exhibited the best performance for the

TiO2 photocatalytic degradation of phenylarsonic acid [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry, 2010
Phenyl substituted arsenic compounds are widely used as feed additives in the poultry industry and have become a serious environmental concern. We have demonstrated that phenylarsonic acid (PA) is readily degraded by TiO(2) photocatalysis. Application of the Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model for the initial stages of the TiO(2) photocatalysis of PA ...

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Construction of hierarchical square biscuit-shape BiOBr photocatalyst with enhanced visible-light-response photocatalytic activities

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
Herein, we first explore an efficient solvothermal method to fabricate hierarchical square biscuit-like BiOBr architecture (SBBA), and further utilize it as a visible-light-responsive photocatalyst. The photocatalytic performance of the resultant SBBA is

Influence of Ti–O–Si hetero-linkages in the photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The influence of Ti–O–Si hetero-linkages in the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye over TiO2–SiO2 xerogels is exemplified by XPS analysis. We demonstrate a relationship between the percentage surface content of Ti–O–Si and the rate of photocatalytic ...

Steering Oxygen Activation Pathways via Redox Dual‐Defects in 2D Hydrated WO3 for High‐Yield Singlet Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.
