Degradation of PVDF in photocatalytic membranes in gaseous environments

open access: yesJournal of Hazardous Materials
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexa-fluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) are fluoropolymers used for applications including, but not limited to, immobilization of photocatalytic materials for water and air purification due to its high resistance to ultraviolet (UV) exposure and extreme environmental conditions. The stability of

Uncaging Iridium(III) Complexes for Combined Photodynamic and Photoactivated Chemotherapy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Light‐activatable iridium(III) anticancer prodrugs demonstrate how chalcogen coordination controls photoinduced therapeutic activity. Upon visible‐light irradiation, sulfur‐ and selenium‐based caging ligands undergo distinct oxygen‐dependent photoreactions that trigger ligand release and singlet oxygen generation, enabling combined photoactivated ...

Synergistic Advanced Oxidation and Physicochemical Treatment Strategies for Antibiotic Removal and Resistance Mitigation in Water

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

Carbon Dot Nano‐Spacers in Triazine Networks for Integrated Photothermal Seawater Desalination and H2O2 Production

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Cyanated carbon dots (CN‐CDs) are synthesized by the hydrothermal method with carboxymethyl cellulose and cyanobenzoic acid, and CD‐CTN is obtained in situ via cyclotrimerization of CN‐CDs. CD‐CTN possesses excellent photothermal catalytic H2O2 production in seawater, and desalted H2O2 could be obtained, which demonstrates the practical application for
