On the theory of photocathode rf guns

Chinese Physics C, 2009
In this paper we give a set of analytical formulae to describe the characteristics of photocathode rf guns at any rf frequencies, such as energy, energy spread, bunch length out going current, and emittance etc as functions of the laser injection phase. whichh are useful in the design and practical operation of rf guns.

Mesh-based semitransparent photocathodes

Applied Optics, 1975
Semitransparent photocathodes consisting of vacuum-deposited layers of CsI on electroformed nickel meshes with 40 and 60 lines/mm spacing have been investigated for applications in vacuum-ultraviolet electronic imaging devices. These photocathodes are found to have about half the quantum yield of an opaque CsI photocathode, but a factor of 2 to 3 ...

Liquid Photocathodes

2016
Liquid photocathodes were studied intensely for a number of years around 1988. Initially it was observed that the gaseous compounds used as photocathodes were absorbed on surfaces, making them slightly photosensitive. This opened up the dream of a well-defined photosensitive layer.
