Characterization of photochemical processing
Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B: Microelectronics Processing and Phenomena, 1985Thermally grown SiO2 and crystalline GaAs surfaces exposed to an etching gas under an ArF excimer laser irradiation have been studied by in situ x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Reaction kinetics of photochemical etching and resulting products on the solid surfaces have been revealed from the chemical shifts of adsorbates and substrate atoms ...

Primary photochemical processes in bacteriorhodopsin
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1976Abstract Experiments in the picosecond range indicate that the rate of formation of the first intermediate in the photoreaction cycle of bacteriorhodopsin is approximately 1011 sec−1. A transient at 580 nm has been observed and is tentatively attributed to the excited singlet state.

Dynamic Stark Control of Photochemical Processes
Science, 2006A method is presented for controlling the outcome of photochemical reactions by using the dynamic Stark effect due to a strong, nonresonant infrared field. The application of a precisely timed infrared laser pulse reversibly modifies potential energy barriers during a chemical reaction without inducing any real electronic transitions.

Photochemical Processed Materials
2018This chapter describes photochemical processes of polymers including photopolymerization and photocrosslinkable polymerization. Photoinitiators are key components in photopolymerization that generate reactive species of free radicals or ions via Norrish type I or Norrish type II reactions.

Semiconductors: Photochemical processing
Physics Bulletin, 1985The formation of thin layers of inorganic materials on semiconductor surfaces by the photo initiated decomposition of organometallic compounds is a technique that is receiving increasing attention. Deposition of these layers by heating (pyrolysing) such compounds has become a standard technology, and has acquired the acronym mocvd (metallo-organic ...

Primary Photochemical Process in Bromine
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1953A kinetic investigation of the photobromination of ethylene has led to results which are in general consistent with the earlier work of Schumacher et al. The existence of an induced oxidation reaction was demonstrated in mixtures containing traces of oxygen, which is a very strong inhibitor of the ethylene-bromine chain reaction.

Columns: Photochemical Reactions and Photophysical Processes
Polymer News, 2004Recently, interest has been aroused in the synthesis and study of optical and electronic properties of π-conjugated oligomers and polymers containing transition metal complexes. The introduction of transition metal chromophores exhibiting metal to ligand charge transfer excited state (MLCT) in the π-conjugated polymer opens new possibilities in ...

Photochemical Processes Involving Graphene Oxide
Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry, 2015Recent research on photochemical processes involving graphene oxide are summarized and analyzed. Such processes include the reduction of this oxide upon photoexcitation both with and without molecular or semiconductor photocatalysts, conversions of various substrates induced by graphene oxide as a photocatalyst (photoinitiator), and photocatalytic ...

PhotoChemical Processes in the Atmosphere
2002Atmospheric trace gases are primarily removed by reactions with radicals and therefore radicals play an important role in the Chemistry of the atmosphere. Radicals in the atmosphere are produced by the photodissociation of molecules, or by the reaction of a primary radical with another molecule.
